DONCASTER KNIGHTS: Clive Griffiths back at Castle Park
CHAMPIONSHIP strugglers Doncaster Knights have appointed Clive Griffiths as Director of Professional Rugby.
Griffiths previously held the Director of Rugby post at Castle Park in their most successful season, leading them to third position in National One 2006/07.
The 58-year-old Welshman is a former Wales international rugby league and rugby union player and is currently working as defence coach of the Canadian National team, who take on the Maori All Blacks this week at Oxford.
The Knights coaching setup will remain in place with director of rugby Brett Davey, head coach Glen Kenworthy, fitness coach Dougie Flockhart and skills coach Tom Luke all working under Griffiths.
Speaking of his appointment, Griffiths said: “I am delighted to be back at Doncaster. I enjoyed my last tenure here before it was cut short too early.
“Everything I love about the club is still here and the future is still very bright. I am looking forward to building on the foundations of what the current management have put in place which looks very exciting.
“Our main focus as a club is to get Doncaster Knights on the rise up the table.”
