RICHARD Hook reeled in a win following an entertaining angling battle.

The Viking Saturday Open at Hawk pond saw Hook and fellow angler Roger Summerscales match each other fish for fish. The aptly named Hook, of Leeds, was the eventual victor with 72lb 1oz of carp. Ossett’s Summerscales was second with 70lb 5oz. Dave Cheetham was third with 11lb 9oz.

Sunday’s Nelson AC’s club match saw Gordon Shields win with 84lb 2oz. Simon Cudmore was second with 19lb 8oz and Ken Butler finished third with 8lb 14oz. Book a place at the next open match at Deer pond on 01405 860764.
