Selby Golf Club have raised a ‘hole’ lotta cash – £40,000 in fact – for the Yorkshire Cancer Research charity over the past five years.

And current captain John Hurrion was on hand to present the latest £2,000 cheque from money raised at a special dinner in memory of past members.

John is pictured handing over the funds to YCR chief executive officer Charles Rowett, who was accompanied by the charity’s Selby president Doreen Holmes and secretary Kay Enion.

Charles expressed his gratitude to the club for their continuing efforts and former golf captain Les Green represented his fellow organisers Malcolm Steel and Jack Gorbutt, who were unavailable on the day.

The meeting was organised by YCR local treasurer and Selby Golf Club member Ann Wood.
