Hancock and Walker put Sutton on Cup trail

REIGNING champions Sutton Rovers had a 2-1 win over South Elmsall United Services in their Doncaster Senior League Premier Division KO Cup first round tie.

Chris Hancock and Ryan Walker shared out their goals with Paul Smith replying.

Jermaine Green and Shane Fox found the net for Bawtry Town in their 2-0 success at South Kirkby Colliery.

A strike by Tom O’Neill was enough to give Denaby Main a 1-0 win over Harworth Colliery and send them clear at the top of Division One.

Scawthorpe Scorpions posted a 4-2 win over visiting Westwoodside Rangers.Torren Adams, Jamie Lambert, Cameron Jones and Gareth Mountain shared out the goals with Declan Bacon twice reducing the arrears.

South Kirkby Town won 3-0 away at Bawtry Town Reserves courtesy of goals by Craig Hobson, Ricky Gaskell and Ben Bailey. Denaby United and Rossington Main both progressed to the third round of the Sheffield Association Challenge Cup.

Nathan Lovell and Ryan Smith both bagged braces for Denaby in their 5-2 success at Kinsley Boys, with Callum Black completing the nap hand. Sean Hammonds and Jack Howey were the Kinsley marksmen.

Rossington defeated Caribbean Sports 2-0, James Batchelor and Nathan Fraser both hitting the target. There was a 3-0 defeat for Scawthorpe and Bentley Rhinos in their tie at Jubilee Sports, while Hemsworth Town suffered an 8-0 drubbing at home to Oughtibridge WMC.

Hemsworth MW also bowed out of the competition, going down 3-0 when they entertained AFC Dronfield Woodhouse.

Swinton Athletic snatched a 4-3 victory at Premier Division Bramley Sunnyside in their Sheffield Junior Cup third round clash. Gareth Halford and Lee Woodhall both hit a double for the winners with Tom Salt, Matthew Brunyee and Askwith replying.

Shane Carver scored four times for Rovers Foundation in their 8-1 triumph at Sheffield Bankers. Hayden Tomlinson (2), James Bytheway and Matthew Riley also chipped in with goals.

ISG Doncaster had to settle for a Slawamier Ostrowski consolation goal as they went down 5-1 in their tie with Sheffield Medics.
