DONCASTER Rovers boss Dean Saunders admits that tomorrow’s FA Cup first round tie against Conference North side Bradford Park Avenue at the Keepmoat Stadium is a potential banana skin if his players aren’t on their game.

“We played them in a pre-season game a their place and they’ve got some good players and we are not taking them lightly,” said Saunders.

“It is a great day for the Bradford club, they’ll be playing in a great stadium and they’ll be looking to put on a good show. We’ve not got to think that we are better than we are.

“They’ve got players who have played at a higher level and others have been around the block. They’ve got a formula which is serving them well in the league .

“They’ve played 4-5-1 in a lot of games and they’ve got a big centre-forward who scores goals.

“But if we play as well as we know we can play then we should come out with the right result. You have to be aware of the fact that they will play with a free spirit as they have nothing to lose.

“We’ve just got to go out and be professional and make sure that our talent comes through on the day, show the right mentality and keep on doing what we’ve been doing in the league in recent weeks.”

Saunders will give late fitness tests to several key players before finalising his side.

“Kyle Bennett, who picked up a knock late in the game at Notts County last week, is struggling a bit. I’m hoping that Paul Quinn will be fit. He’s not trained all week and we have been wrapping him in cotton wool to try and get him out ther.

“Shelton Martis might make it, if not the hope is that he’ll be fit for Crewe. Martin Woods, who missed the Notts County game with a back problem is fit again and Billy Paynter has got over his sickness bug.”
