Champions turn on the Tap to stay top

DEFENDING champions Athletico Tap Maker recorded a tenth successive Premier Division win to retain top spot. Dean Wilburn scored four of the goals in their 8-0 rout of FC Dunscroft with Daniel Read (2), Andrew Brown and James Naylor also chipping in with goals.

Canal Tavern, for whom Darren Howe, Brett Thomas and Jed McCormack scored, continue to head the chasing pack following their 3-0 win at third-placed Tumbler. Bullcroft Sports & Social lost 3-0 at home to Bentley Top Club. Rhino’s charged to a 4-1 win at Corner Pin courtesy of goals by Dean Wiffin, Dean Morling, Shawn Atkinson and Dean Daffin. Social Bar posted a 3-1 win over visiting Hatfield Celtic. Stag Inn remain bottom after going down to a 5-3 defeat at home to Eden Grove. Lee Tilley, Adam Slater and Stewart Spence netted for Stag with Darrell Creed, Rob Mahon, Danny Robinson, Michael Giliga and Mick Sibanda. Championship leaders Finningley Athletic (Lewis Truman, own goal) were made to work hard for their (2-1) win at Stainforth.

Hawthorn held on to top spot following their 8-3 win at Edlington Top Club. Leon Osbourne and Mark Carter both notched a hat-trick with Jamie Hayes and Bryn Evans both chipping in with goals. Chris Colley scored all three Top Club goals. Sportsman Inter Stella climbed into third spot after beating Wheatley Hotel by the odd goal in five. Toll Bar lost ground following their 4-1 beating at Windmill. Park Social handed Carpenters Arms a 4-0 defeat. Brodsworth United (Shane Turvey, Dan Hulley) crashed to a 12-2 defeat at Wheatsheaf. Garry Williams notched a hat-trick for the home side with Tom Padgett and Austin Hallam both bagging a brace.
