A brace apiece from Laura Whitaker and Anya Limbert ensured a convincing victory for Belles who were two up within the first four minutes of this open-age game. Ciara McEvoy was also on target from close range, but the goal of the game came when a good move and cross down the right from Kelly Thornton was met on the edge of the box by Laura and firmly dispatched into the net.

In a fine team effort, player of the week was Kelly Walker for a commanding defensive display while Jade Roche had to come off injured and Melissa Till headed just over the bar.

Brayton Belles U16s...................... 4

Although soon gaining the ascendancy with a 2-0 lead, Belles eventually had to come from behind to win this game with a couple of magnificent goals.

Becky Hill scored a brace and was voted player of the match by her team-mates for her resilience and superb finishing while Rosie Hutton and Aine Abbott also found the net.

Mill Lane Yellows......................... 6

Brayton Belles U14s...................... 1

Emily Owen scored an excellent goal from distance as Belles began to find their shape and rhythm against the runaway leaders who have averaged 11 goals a game and conceded none. The scoreline was harsh on Brayton who were considered by the opposition manager as the best team they had played. Keeper Stacey Haytack was player of the match and Bethany Doughty backed her up well.
