Evans effort is all in vain
HATFIELD Town got back to winning ways in the All Saints Indoor Cricket League with victory over Rossington Main.
Paul Davies (25 not out) and opening partner Andy Shelton (25), put their side on the way to a total of 106 for 3.
Rossington lost their top order to an all-round accurate bowling attack. Joel Evans (36) put up a spirited response but his side fell well short of the winning line. Andy Shelton took 2-12.
Maltby MW returned to winning ways despite losing four early wicket.
A late rally from Liam Davies (30 not out) Josh Bacon (14) and John Pinkos (10 not out) enabled Maltby to post a respectable total of 93 for 4. Askern’s reply hinged on opener Nick Bisby (25) who held the innings together with Nathan Hardaker (28), but they fell 20 runs short.
Barnby Dun had a comfortable win over improved Warmsworth, who could only muster 89-1. Youngsters Adam Saynor and Matthew Spurr both on 25 runs were the back-bone of their innings with Connor Doherty (20) continuing to impress.
Dun made light work of reaching their target without the loss of a wicket (Stuart McPhee 26, Keiron Dinnage 25, and Scott Walker 23.
Unbeaten leaders Doncaster Town coasted to victory over newcomers Hatfield Town B. Scot Exley hit 26 took 3-17.
Ryan Capstick (36 not out) top scored for the leaders with in-form partners Gareth Cox (20) and Curtis Free (28 not out) guiding their side to a total of 136 for 3.
Hatfield never got their innings going, Connah Pattison, 19, their top scorer.
