A hat-trick of World Cup heroes from the Selby district are still celebrating a week after returning from Thailand, where they were part of the winning England team in the global Seniors competition.
Nigel Emery and Ian Simpson – both from Thorpe Willoughby – and Peter Collier from Selby are members of the all-conquering Harrogate Veterans team who were representing England in the tournament. Collier said lifting the cup was the proudest moment of his life.
