A pupil of Oaks professional Graham Walker has won a full European Tour card at his first attempt with a fourth-place finish after moving into top spot with two rounds to go at the Qualifying School in Spain.
Former World No 1 amateur Danny Willett, who regularly comes under Graham's tutelage at his Bubwith-based academy, surged through the field with a 63 in Saturday's third round before posting a 70 on Sunday for a 16-under-par total of 270, enough for a one-stroke lead in the race for the 32 tour cards up for grabs.
The 21-year-old from Rotherham slipped slightly over the final 36 holes with 74 and 70, but it was more than enough to announce his arrival on the professional circuit with some fanfare.
