After being named in the starting eleven for the first time since early February, Jon James had to be carried off the field within two minutes of kick-off in this match at relegation-threatened Malton & Norton.
He was in great pain following a knee-high challenge described by manager Ian Jennings as one of the worst he had seen.
And although Blackwell scored from the resulting penalty, the sight of the crestfallen winger laid beside the touchline had a disastrous effect on an already severely weakened team.
"It's typical of the way the season has gone," Jennings remarked. "Every team suffers with injuries but I have never known a season like it in almost 20 years of local football management."
