The British Motorcycle Grand Prix at Donington Park on Sunday was a day of contrasting fortunes for British riders with James Toseland crashing on the first corner of the MotoGP race after Scott Redding had taken an historic win in the 125 class.
Despite all the pre-event build-up being centred around Toseland, it was the first race of the day – the 125s – that provided the real hero and gave the 88,000-strong crowd a victory they had waited 35 years to see.
