Hemingbrough Utd 0
Bishopthorpe 1
A serious injury to Hemingbrough United striker Danny Smith caused the abandonment of their match with Bishopthorpe, the first game they have played since December 12.
Danny rode a perfectly good challenge but his left boot got caught in the turf on landing, causing a dislocation of his ankle and fracture of his leg.
The game was immediately abandoned as paramedics attended the injured player. Danny underwent surgery on Sunday morning and, at the time of writing, the operation seems to have been a success. Everyone connected with the club wishes Danny a swift and full recovery.
