'Hidden' venue takes the plunge

Hidden away at the south-east corner of the Selby district is a superb sailing venue regularly used by hundreds of enthusiasts and which has produced three world champions over the years.
Sunday's gale-force winds were just too much, however, but the Beaver Sailing Club near Snaith is hoping for more favourable conditions when they hold an open day next Saturday, July 5.
With a total membership of up to 700, including families, the club is keen to showcase its wares to a wider public with a view to attracting new participants to the sport.
