AUDIENCES watching Sherburn Athelstan Primary School's nativity performance thought their eyes were deceiving them when they saw the baby Jesus moving!
The all-singing, all-dancing key stage one Wriggly Nativity starred Hannah Rose Shaw as Mary, Ben Dingwall as Joseph and baby Ollie Dutson as the baby Jesus. Ollie is the younger brother of school pupils Lee and Kyle and former student Joshua, who started at Sherburn High School in September.

Headteacher Karen O'Donnell said: "The audience couldn't work out if the baby was real or not at first, but when they realised, there was plenty of cooing!

"Baby Ollie was angelic and lay in his moses basket gurgling throughout. The children were delightful and it was a fantastic festive performance."

Foundation stage pupils at the school also joined in the festivities with a separate performance of nativity-themed play Fishing For Stars.
