VIEWS on the impact of the A63 Selby Bypass on residents and businesses are being sought by the Highways Agency.
The survey has been posted to district residents, many of whom regularly use the busy highway since it opened in 2004 (pictured above).

The agency will meet North Yorkshire County Council highways chiefs once the information has been collated on t
raffic flow, journey times and how it has affected daily life and travel behaviour.

Linda Sullivan is the transport planner for Atkins, the company contracted to the Highways Agency to undertake the survey. She said: "I cannot give an exact date when the survey will be completed.

"We need to get the report through various Highways Agency review processes, and need to ensure we take account of the residents' survey that's currently underway.

"We estimate the report will be available to the public by the summer, however no date has yet been fixed."

A Highways Agency spokesman said: "Any information collected for the Post Opening Project Evaluation will be used as a predictory tool for future road schemes.

"Recommendations will be made on things that went well, and those things which didn't go so well, to iron out any problems with future highways projects."
