TRIBUTES have been flooding in for the Selby Times' 150th anniversary with celebrities, politicians and community stalwarts offering their congratulations.
A promotions van in Market Place was manned by Selby Times staff and editor Chris Page, who came from behind his desk at the Times' offices in Gowthorpe to meet the public, who also gave their support.

A notable fan of the Times, who sent his congratulations on our 150th, was Selby Pittancer and comedian Tim FitzHigham, who said: "Many happy returns of the day. A great paper for a great town reaches an amazing milestone. Well done to you all and again, many happy returns!"

Many from the town joined in the celebrations as they collected their goodie bags containing a copy of the special bumper anniversary edition and other great giveaway items.

The special Selby Times 150th anniversary edition remains available at our town centre offices.

Extra print run means the popular packed paper, featuring a 12-page Memorable Times nostalgia supplement, money-saving Selby Means Business cheque book, free year's council tax promotion among a raft of extra value reader-friendly offers, bumper property section and VIP tributes from The Queen down, can still be obtained as a commemorative keepsake and special delivery to ex-pat Selebians.

Also available at our 74-76 Gowthorpe offices are environmentally-friendly commemorative branded bags – seen being displayed by sales promoters Cheryl Walsh and Charlotte Bentham alongside colleague Simon Lilley and editor Chris Page – as well as Pocket Images local history books, both offered at discount prices to our readers. Call 01757 702802.

Be sure to buy your Selby Times every week to share our continued celebrations throughout the sesquicentennial anniversary year.
