SEASIDE will come to Selby as part of bumper Selby Family Fun Day celebrations.
Youngsters can build sandcastles in a giant sand pit and enjoy fairground rides, games, a Punch and Judy show, donkey rides, candy floss, a climbing wall, bouncy castles and a sea-front atmosphere at the free June 15 event.

Musical entertainment at the Portholme Road bowling green will kick off at 12.30pm with Selby's own Bogus Brothers (below). Their appearance – which follows performances with Simply Red and requests for private concerts for the likes of Eddie Jordan, Sir Alex Ferguson and the Manchester United team – will be their last in Selby this year.

Band manager Tony Williams said: "We always said we'd like to come back to Selby and support this event in whatever way we could, and it was suggested we open the event on the green as it fitted in with our existing festival commitments."

As well as all the other pop and rock acts lined up to take to the stage, music lovers can also take advantage of entertainment from Bob Crossland and the Barlby Foot-Tappers Band at the nearby Scott Road Community Centre, with a concert by the current North of England champions South Milford Brass Band, Selby Music Centre and Hatfield Powerfuels Band at Selby Park.

A temporary radio shack on the community field will allow wannabe DJs to take to the microphone and broadcast across Europe.

Selby's Classic Motorcycle Rally will also return to the delight of bikers and enthusiasts, with machines on display in Selby Park from 10am on June 14 and 15.
