A DERELICT Selby town centre pub could be transformed into flats if proposals are granted by councillors.
Developers want to convert the listed Rose and Crown in New Street into six apartments and six townhouses.

A supporting statement submitted with the application to Selby District Council said: "The existing building is no longer viable as a public house, and alternative uses to ensure its maintenance and upkeep have been considered as a means of preserving the area."

The once traditional tavern – made famous for its quality of ales – pulled its last pints in March due to dwindling numbers.
