IT'S now or never for Elvis fans who want the chance to appear in a US TV show profiling the life of one of his leading impersonators!
Former Selby resident Mark Summers has been selected as the star of a new fly-on-the-wall documentary programme to be screened in the States next year.

Producers are keen to use footage of the highly-rated tribute act from his home town, and will be rolling the cameras when he takes to the stage at Drax Sports and Social Club on July 4.

Presenters will interview audience members as part of the show, designed to discover why Elvis's appeal remains as strong as ever.

And tickets are on sale now for district residents to enjoy their 15 minutes of fame at the Selby Times-backed show!

Mark (pictured), 26, said: "This is the biggest thing to ever happen to me during my career.

"It's unbelievable I've been chosen for the programme, and I'm delighted I'll be able to include my hometown fans in this fantastic experience. All my family will be at the Drax show as well, so it's going to be a really special night."

Mark, who's taken his tribute act around the globe for the past five years, will be performing throughout the UK during the next few months, before flying out to the USA to complete filming in January, culminating in a personal meeting with Elvis's widow Priscilla Presley and daughter Lisa Marie.

Mark added: "Producers are keen to focus on someone young who's still keeping Elvis's memory alive. They want to witness the reception of a modern-day audience and discover why Elvis is still so alluring to so many people.

"I can't wait to meet Priscilla and Lisa Marie, and the US trip will also be the first time I'll have visited Elvis's former home Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee."

Official Elvis Presley Fan Club president and Mark's manager Mark Kent said: "Mark has gone from strength to strength during the past 12 months, and we're now in talks with USA companies to arrange future events, including a 2010/11 tour.

"We wanted to film Mark at home around local fans in a local venue – the show will see him at his best! It will be exciting and full of audience participation."

Tickets for the 8pm Drax show, priced £8, are available by calling 01757 618041. Log-on to the website at www.elvislegacy.com for further information.
