SELBY'S Got Talent – that's the call from one town landlord hoping to encourage wannabes to sing for success.
John Hedley, mine host at the Three Swans in Church Hill, has launched a quest to find a singing sensation and promises a £50 cash prize reward for one lucky winner.

The three-week contest will start on February 20 and follow a similar process to the Britain's Got Talent television show, with showbiz judges Alan Nicholson and Barry Cole putting the entrants through their paces.

John said: "This is something I've done before a few years ago, and because it was such a success, I thought I'd bring it back but bigger and better.

"There are plenty of talented people in Selby, and I'm looking forward to seeing a good variety of singers of all ages when the competition gets underway."

Entries are invited through the Selby Times, which is backing the event. Call 01757 702198, e-mail editorial@selbytimes.co.uk or find us on Facebook or via selbytimesuk on Twitter.
