GREAT Selby Bike Ride stalwart David Jones this week urged entrants to get their forms in as soon as possible for the forthcoming 22nd wheely big fundraiser.
Cyclists are being urged to get on their bikes for one of Selby's major fun events, which this year takes place on May 11, setting off from Barlby High School.
Selby District Lions stalwart David said he expected the Selby Times-backed event to ke
ep on rolling and be another great success.
He added: "It should be a tremendous event once again, and I urge as many people as possible to enter.
"You can enter on the day but need to have done so by 9.30am as the ride starts at 10am."
Bike ride forms are available now from the Selby Times, Selby Bike Centre and Halifax, all in Gowthorpe, as well as Halfords at the Three Lakes Retail Park in Bawtry Road and other cycle shops in the area.
Proceeds will be divided between the British Heart Foundation, Martin House Hospice, St Leonard's Hospice, Arthritis Research Campaign and Selby Lions' local good causes.
Fee for the 45-mile route is £3 for adults, £1.50 for under 16s, while the 25-mile circuit costs £2.50 for adults and £1.25 for juniors. Teams of six can enter for £12.
David added: "I hope people will turn out in force once again. This is always a well-supported event, and we generally get between 600 and 700 riders entering. We raised £7,500 in 2007 for good causes, and we hope people will help us raise at least that much again this year ... and that the sun shines! The real winner on the day is always charity."
