HOPES are high for Goole coming up roses in this year’s Yorkshire in Bloom competition.
Floral displays last year earned Goole in Bloom a Silver Gilt award and new participants are being sought for 2012.
Jean Kitchen, Chair of the committee, said: “This year offers the opportunity to incorporate planting schemes that celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee and the London 2012 Olympics.
“Any success can only be made possible by the hard work of volunteers and the sponsorship offered by local people and businesses.”
She said the scheme attracted 30 sponsors last year and potential sponsors or anyone interested in being a part of the scheme in 2012 was invited to attend the Goole in Bloom meeting on Thursday February 9, at Goole College, at 2.30pm.
