TALENTED design and technology pupils at Sherburn High School were celebrated with a showcase of their work.

Incorporating the four design and technology subjects – food, textiles, resistant materials and product design – the work on display was made up of the students’ portfolios and products they had made.

Students invited friends and family to see the display, which was hosted by the school’s design and technology department.

Technology teacher and event organiser Dawn Naylor said: “There was a very impressive fashion show from the textiles students and tasters from the food technology students.

“A great evening was had by all and it was wonderful to be able to congratulate the students on all their hard work over the past year.”

Judges from industries relating to the four design technology subjects chose the best portfolios and the best products. Winners included: Bethany Chawner – Best Food Product; Dina Kelly – Best Food Portfolio; Jessica Hull – Best Textile Product; Hannah Jarvis – Best Textiles Portfolio; Ethan Claxton – Best Resistant Materials Product; Allyson Burroughs – Best Product Design Portfolio; and Liam Newbon – Best Product Design Product.
