Writer’s school visit
Selby High School pupils Tom Somers, Oliver Hebden and Arran Lawrenson with visiting author Daniel Blythe.
SELBY High School pupils had a sci-fi treat as Doctor Who writer Daniel Blythe visited the school.
Daniel is just one of the authors of the popular TV programme and book series.
He took centre stage working with all of year nine students in his morning session, talking about his latest book “Shadow Runners” and also his last Dr Who book, titled “Autonomy”.
His talk to the school’s students was engaging and amongst the issues that were discussed was the history of Doctor Who and his own story of how he became involved with writing the book series.
Daniel also signed copies of his book in the Learning Resource Centre for staff and students at lunchtime.
He also talked to enthusiastic Doctor Who trio Tom Somers, Arran Lawrenson and Oliver Hebden.
During the day he worked with a group of students in his creative writing workshops, giving them tips and advice on how to get started as an author.
