Witnesses sought after alleged assault on ten-year-old boy in Goole

POLICE are seeking witnesses following a report of an assault on a 10 year old boy in Goole on Tuesday March 12.

Around 6.45pm on Tuesday March 12, the 10 year old boy was playing football in a tenfoot at the back of properties on the Broadway in Goole.

He reports being approached by a white man who took him by the scruff of the neck briefly before leaving the scene. The boy was not injured during the incident but observed that the man may have been under the influence of alcohol.

Detectives investigating the reported incident believe that the man may have approached other people and vehicles in the area around the same time and are asking for anyone who witnessed anything untoward to come forward. Witnesses are also sought to the assault on the boy.

A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
