TWO brothers are to stand trial before a judge and jury on charges involving an alleged assault, damaging a car in Swinefleet and other matters on August 5.

Matthew Newson, 20 and Richie Newson, 19, both of Pocklington, appeared before Selby magistrates and were remanded on conditional bail to appear before York Crown Court on February 22.

The older brother is charged with several offences including dangerous driving between Stillingfleet and Cawood. Richie Newson is alleged to have driven without due care, damaged property, assaulted by beating, theft from a vehicle and failing to report an accident.
