Travellers’ site debate hots up

CONTROVERSIAL proposals for a potential new travellers’ site in Burn have been roundly condemned by angry villagers.

More than 100 concerned villagers joined district councillors and a representative from the current travellers’ site last Wednesday for a crisis meeting. They were left in no doubt how furious they were about what they deemed to be Selby District Council’s broken promises, lack of consultation and consideration about proposals to impose a second travellers’ site on Burn airfield.
