Tragic Selby kids room appeal

SELBY Times backed charity Selby Hands of Hope has launched its latest campaign to provide bedrooms for four children who tragically lost their mother in April.

Jo Lanaghan, who suffered with chronic asthma, collapsed at around 6.30am at her home on April 23. Despite her 11 year old daughter immediately calling 999, and attempts by Jo’s mum, Selby District Councillor Steph Duckett, to perform CPR, she died at her Abbots Road home.

Four of her children have been taken in by Steph, but her two boys, Ashley, aged 16 and Jason, 13, are sharing a room in Steph’s council house, as are daughters Zoe and Maria, aged 11 and six.
