YORKSHIRE is getting ready to host the 2014 Tour de France and we want to hear from Selby folk who are keen on helping out.

Tourism authority ‘Welcome to Yorkshire’ said the volunteers, who are commonly referred to as Le Tour Makers, would line the route of the Grand Départ.

Leeds will host the start of the race on 5 July 2014 with the event spending two days in Yorkshire.

Welcome to Yorkshire say that as many as 8,000 people have already applied to be volunteers during the race’s stay in the region and have described the level of interest as a brilliant response.

We want to hear from local people who have applied to be a Le tour maker, so if you’re from Selby tell us why you want to be involved.
