Time bought for kids’ heart services

CHILDREN’s heart surgery service at Leeds General Infirmary have been given a reprieve – at least temporarily.

Secretary of State for Health, Jeremy Hunt, has decided to halt the planned closure of children’s heart surgery units, including the Leeds unit, pending a review by the Independent Reconfiguration Panel.
