Thieves foiled

WOULD-BE thieves were foiled when they attempted to break into an equestrian property in Carlton.

The incident happened on December 2 but police are still keen to trace the culprits. It happened between midnight on December 1 and 10am on December 2. Offenders attempted to remove a wooden panel at the rear of a tack room. Locks on an Iveco horsebox were attacked but again entry was not gained, but they stole the battery from underneath the vehicle and two wheelbarrows. Report any information to North Yorkshire Police on 101.
