POLICE are on high alert after a spate of burglaries at properties in Sherburn over the weekend (March 2 and 3).

Officers are appealing for witnesses especially round the Wolsey Croft estate and they are asking property owners to be extra vigilant.

Police say keep all doors and windows secure, and be mindful of any suspicious people or activity.
