Shot in the arm for ambitious lodge
Game shooters at Park Lodge Shooting School.
THEY’RE right on target! West Cowick’s Park Lodge Shooting School has been shortlisted as best visitor attraction in the annual Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards.
The lodge offers shooting experiences and tuition for the novice and experienced clay and game shooter and is set in 44 acres of open terrain.
Last year saw the launch of new facilities at the site, including a new shooting lodge, meeting facilities and a coffee shop and bistro – the lodge has seen a 60 per cent increase in bookings over the last 12 months.
Owner Tom Bayston said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted for this prestigious award and would like to say a big thank you to the team here and all our visitors for making our first year with our new facilities such a great success.
“Visitor attraction is certainly a tough category to compete in as there are so many high quality venues out there so we are thrilled that we have made it through to the final selection.
“We are now looking forward to the ceremony and being part of this exciting event.”
Winners of the REYTAs, which are organised by Visit Hull and East Yorkshire, will be announced on March 14. The shooting school is open from Wednesday to Sunday.
