Selby Valentine ball to take place

This year's Heart to Heart Valentine Charity Ball at the National Railway Museum in York was such a huge success that it will be held again on February 9, 2013, with all proceeds going to the 'Save Our Surgery' campaign.

SELBY folk are encouraged to get in the romantic mood later this month, when a special Valentine-themed evening takes place.

Thorpe Willoughby Village Hall hosts a special Valentine Ball on Saturday, February 9 courtesy of organiser Wendy Ruston.

The occasion is being held to commemorate the lead-up to the romantic season, and is a change from the usual Christmas ball.

A great deal of effort is put into organising these events and money that is raised will go towards the upkeep of the village hall.

Wendy says she is hoping for a successful evening with tickets already being sold at a steady rate.

A raffle will take place on the night with prizes donated by local businesses. The event will have a formal dress code and there will be a full bar on the night.

Tickets, which are selling fast, are priced at £20 and include a complementary welcome drink, disco, hot buffet meal (local catering company Truly Scrumptious) and local band, the Breeze.

Tickets for the evening can be bought by contacting Wendy on 07967599642.
