Selby cricket club gets cash windfall

A CRICKET club in Selby is celebrating after scooping a £50,000 cash windfall.

Church Fenton Cricket Club received the money through National Lottery funding in order to upgrade their facilities.

The club’s vice chair Jill Wilkinson said: “We are delighted to have secured this investment, which means we can upgrade the quality of our premises.

“It is the cornerstone of our strategy to have an outstanding club for the 2012 Olympics legacy.”

The club was chosen as one of 310 projects across England to receive the funding.
