Police seek burglar

CRIME: Crime scene.

CRIME: Crime scene.

A burglar used a ceramic plant pot to smash the glass in a rear kitchen door and force entry to a detached house in Gowdall Lane in Snaith.

The incident happened between 11.50am and 1.45pm on Monday March 18.

The offender went through the house after breaking in and carried out an untidy search but was disturbed by the occupants arriving home.

The man ran down the stairs, barged past the woman and ran out of the house onto the front driveway where he brandished a crowbar at the woman’s partner before making his escape. He then climbed into an old shaped Vauxhall Astra estate car that was parked outside in the street and driving away.

The burglar, described as a white man, aged mid-20s, approximately 6ft tall, clean shaven and with a broad build, is thought to have made off empty-handed.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect is asked to contact Humberside Police on the non emergency number 101 referring to log 321 of March 18 2013 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
