RURAL residents in Selby District have a new point of conatct with the police after suspension of the Route 4 You service.

Police say their mobile neighbourhood service has been put on hold due to limited demand from the community and will no longer be available from the end of March.

Despite the withdrawal of the service, residents will still have access to their local policing teams who will be riding along with North Yorkshire County Council’s mobile library, calling at many of the villages previously covered by Route 4 You.
