BRITISH Transport Police hope CCTV images issued this week will jog the memory of anyone who witnessed a cycle theft at Goole rail station.

Officers want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the theft, which took place at 7.40am on Sunday, January 6, from the cycle racks at the station.

PC Dermott Carlin, leading the investigation, is particularly keen to speak to the two men pictured, or anyone who knows them, as he believes they may have important information.

He said: “The victim in this case is a 35-year-old man from Goole who left his bike securely locked in the racks provided at the station on Saturday, 5 January at 9.30pm.

“When he returned to the racks on the evening of Monday, 7 January both the bike and the padlock used to attach it had been stolen.”

The silver and yellow mountain bike, worth an estimated £125, was taken from the cycle racks next to the booking office.
