Man in court for verbally abusing woman on Selby Railway Station

A FEMALE supervisor at Selby railway Station was verbally abused after telling a man that he could not smoke on the platform.
Katrina Joyce was told that she was a “jobsworth”, that she could probably earn as much a prostitute and would then be able to provide him with sexual favours.
Patrick Alistair McKenzie, 42, of Hull failed to attend Selby magistrates on a charge of using unacceptable behaviour on the railway at the station of September 17, last year. The case was found proved in his absence after Sandra White prosecuting, outlined the facts to the court.
She said that after being told that he could not smoke, McKenzie’s behaviour and offensive remarks towards the supervisor lasted for around an hour before the police were called. When quizzed by an officer, McKenzie replied: “Yes it was me”.
Although he did not admit all the allegations against him, McKenzie told the interviewing officer that he would think about how he spoke to people in the future. The court heard that McKenzie had previously been made the subject of an Anti-social Behaviour Order and also had a conviction for breaching it. He was fined £350 and ordered to pay both costs of £40 and a victim surcharge of £35.
AT At 8.17pm on Friday the fire service was contacted by the ambulance service to attend a motorcycle crash on the A64 at Sherburn. A fire engine from Sherburn attended. The motorcylist had left the road due to weather conditions. He was suffering from spinal and leg injuries. Fire Crews protected the casualty from the harsh cold and snow until the arrival of the ambulance.
