FIGHTING fit youngsters from an activity club in Hambleton were raring to go when they held a sporting day last Wednesday.

The Play Safe Club based at Hambleton Primary School engaged children aged four to 11 in all manner of keep fit activities including football, skipping and other playground games.

Proprietor of the club Rachael Peacock said the children had really enjoyed the day and were always keen to try new things.

She added: “The children really enjoyed the day. We are a before and after school and holiday childcare club for children in Hambleton, Monk Fryston, Burton Salmon and surrounding villages. We have centres at Hambleton Primary School and Monk Fryston Community Centre.”

She further added: “We run all manner of activities for children including summer sport coaching sessions in addition to visits to places of interest. In the near future we’ll be taking the children to Globe Cinema in Selby and Magna Discovery Centre in Rotherham. We always like to keep the children stimulated.”
