Joshua Kirsch-Maskill is set to be play the leading role in The Turn of the Screw.

Young Joshua Kirsch-Maskill has caught the acting bug and is set to star in a major production - all at the age of nine!

The St Mary’s Primary student is set to play the part of Miles in the upcoming production of ‘The Turn of the Screw’.

The production runs for three days in both Barnsley (March 7-9) and Pontefract (April 25-27).

Joshua first heard of the opportunity through the Street Dance company he attends, based in Pontefract.

After auditions and the learning of numerous lines, Joshua received a phone call last October to confirm he had won the role.

He is now well underway learning his 185 lines and rehearsals for the performances are in full swing.

For tickets call (Barnsley) 01226 200075 and (Pontefract) 01977 799740.
