ACTION on Hearing Loss is inviting people from Selby who are sufferers or have tinnitus to start influencing the charity’s work in the New Year by joining its research panel.

The organisation was formerly the Royal National Institute for the Deaf (RNID) and panellists of the new body will have regular opportunities to take part in the charity’s research projects by completing short online surveys as well as through one-to-one interviews and focus groups.

Evidence gathered through the research will inform Action on Hearing Loss’s policy, services and campaigning work for a world where hearing loss doesn’t limit people and tinnitus is silenced.

Director of Research at Action on Hearing Loss, Roger Wicks, said: “Our research panel is a great opportunity for Selby residents with hearing loss or tinnitus to help shape our work in the year ahead by highlighting the vital issues that affect their everyday lives.”

Action on Hearing Loss is the UK’s largest charity taking action on hearing loss and says it wants a world where the condition doesn’t limit or label people and where people value their hearing enough to look after it.

For further information go to www.actiononhearingloss.org.uk website; and people can join the research panel by completing a short questionnaire on http://svy.mk/researchpanel or contact panel@hearingloss.org.uk email.
