Growth fund deadline looms
BUSINESSES in Selby district have just four weeks left to bid for their slice of a £26 million fund to re-start stalled projects.
The Leeds City Region Local Enterprise Partnership, of which Selby is part, has reported that it has had a great response from companies interested in a loan of between £250,000 and £5 million from the second round of its Growing Places Fund.
Businesses based in or wanting to invest in the region are being urged to find out if their project could benefit from a cash injection.
Neil McLean chairman of the Leeds City Region LEP, said: “We’re really encouraged by the enquiries and applications received so far. The loans can act as a real catalyst that will bring additional investment to the region and allow us to continue to support businesses.
“We’ve gone to great lengths to make the application process as simple as possible and the team are on hand to answer any questions you may have. With time running out, I’d urge anyone who thinks they might benefit to contact the team to discuss how we help.” The deadline is November 1.
The loans are aimed at removing barriers to development and businesses need to be able to demonstrate that the investment will accelerate economic growth, deliver new jobs and reduce the region’s carbon emissions. Contact the LEP 0113 247 7911 see www.leedscityregion.gov.uk.
