AS PART of our link up with Selby Globe Community Cinema, Selby Times is able to offer a pair of tickets for the latest show, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, plus a slap up meal for two in another great competition!
Billed as one of this years’ best films, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen will arrive at the Selby Town Hall venue on September 17 at 7.30pm.
The movie kick starts the Globe’s autumn season and heralds the beginning of the fourth year of films shown by the award winning community cinema group.
Eva Lambert, Selby Globe project manager, said: “It’s hard to believe we are celebrating our third birthday this month. We would like to send a huge thank you to everyone who had helped us establish the group and show film to over 10,000 people in the area.
“With enthusiasm and drive we have earned support from Selby Town Council and The Selby Times to see the cinema project in Selby move from strength to strength. We are proud of what we have achieved and will strive to continue to bring film to the town and surrounding villages”.
Directed by Lasse Hallström and staring Ewan McGregor, Emily Blunt and Amr Waked. Salmon Fishing in the Yemen is the story of a visionary sheik believes his passion for the peaceful pastime of salmon fishing can enrich the lives of his people, and he dreams of bringing the sport to the not so fish-friendly desert. The film also features wonderful music and terrific shots of New York at its best.
