A CAMPAIGNING councillor is talking trash about flytipping near the Sherburn Industrial Estate.

Mike Jordan (pictured), a North Yorkshire County Councillor, who also represents Sherburn on Selby District Council, has hit out at thoughtless flytippers who are dumping rubbish and making Enterprise Way an eyesore.

He said: “They just empty out all their rubbish onto the road – they’re basically using the grass verge as a rubbish bin.

“It’s very annoying – they just don’t seem to care about anyone else.”

He added that Enterprise, the company that provides street cleaning services to Selby District Council, had agreed to clear up the mess.

He further added: “They’ve set a date to come and do the job but of course that is going to cost SDC and, ultimately, the council tax payer, money.

“I have asked a council officer to write to the companies on the estate to highlight the situation. Hopefully that will help. It’s just terrible down there at the moment.”
