Floods update - Wednesday afternoon

FLOODING issues continue to blight Selby area into the latter stages of the week.
Updated list of closed roads in the Selby area 1.45pm:
B1223 The Fleet, Ryther - closed between Ulleskelf and Cawood
Oxton Lane, Tadcaster flooded near Pallerthorpe
Ramparts, Bolton Percy
Back Lane, Acaster Selby
C286 between Bolton Percy cricket ground & Hornington Bridge
B1222 Cawood to Stillingfleet (Kelfield Ings)

B1223 between Ulleskelf and Towton
Just before midday on Wednesday there was pumps being transported over from West Yorkshire, due to high demand on North Yorkshire pumps. The pumps will help deal with River Derwent which has risen 6-8 inches since 6am.
Meanwhile, the Enviornment Agency has said they are operating the ings between York & Selby to reduce flood risks in the surrounding area. They are also continuing to monitor river levels.
