Floods special

THE district village of Cawood has been partially cut off following last week’s floods.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire County Council’s highways department has said Cawood is likely to be semi-stranded for at least another week.

Cawood Bridge, though it is undamaged, is closed due to the flooding as the road to Ryther is under water – at some points to a depth of three metres, making it impassable.

For full floods round-up and photo special see this week’s SElby Times, dated October 4.
