Flipping fantastic Chinese New Year
Children from Creykes Pre-school, aged from 2 to 4 years, recently celebrated Chinese New Year with lots of fun activities.
Celebrating the Chinese New Year were youngsters from across the district last week.
The children from Creykes Pre-school in Rawcliffe, aged from two to four-years-old, marked the Year of the Snake with lots of fun activities, including making and sending lucky red envelopes, masks of the Chinese zodiac, snakes and together they made a dragon from a box and netting and danced around the hall.
Manager Karen Limbert said: “It was made special with different Chinese dishes for the children to try each day.
“These were freshly cooked and brought in by the local Chinese takeaway, Gia Hing on High Street in Rawcliffe and Ren Quinn from Gia Hing came into pre-school to celebrate our Chinese dragon dance with us.”
And at Carlton Playgroup youngsters enjoyed the spirit of Shrove Tuesday with some pancake tossing.
