STAFF at Selby’s Tesco branches became ‘superheroes’ last weekend after helping to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
The three-day event which ran from Friday until Sunday saw staff from both the town’s stores at Tesco Selby and Tesco Brayton join forces to mark a weekend of special activities to mark the supermarket’s Charity of the Year.
The weekend saw in-store activities, a special tug of war between the two stores and staff dressing up as various comic-book characters - and all in the good name of charity!
The money raised will help fund 32 vital early diagnosis research projects across the UK.
Paige Twidale ‘Better service manager’ from the Selby store, helped organised the events.

She said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for colleagues and customers to join forces and get involved in a fundraising event.
“It was also a chance to have fun and help support Cancer Research UK’s doctors, nurses and scientists beat cancer at the same time.”
